Do I have to make any hardware changes to use the NPS columns?
Fast analysis with MICRA NPS columns is possible on
all conventional HPLC systems. To obtain high resolution and efficiency,
however, you need to reduce extra column void volume as much as possible.

A void volume of 0.35 mL or less has been found to give excellent
results on conventional equipment.

To obtain column efficiencies of 300,000 plates/m, a void volume of
0.20 mL or less is needed.
System dead volume can be lowered by reducing tubing volume using capillaries
having 0.01" I.D. or less, using smaller sample injection loops and syringes
or optimizing the gradient.
