Business Continues to Grow for Eprogen's Protein Discovery Laboratory
Darien, IL - November 8, 2002 - Eprogen Inc. is pleased to announce that business for its Protein Discovery Laboratory continues to grow rapidly. Several new instruments have been purchased to support the increased number of new clients Eprogen serves, including several recently signed collaborative research agreements, as well as the continued business from existing customers.
Dr. James Harvey, VP of Analytical Products & Services, states "the expansion of our Protein Discovery Laboratory with the addition of these new instruments will further enhance Eprogen's ability to provide rapid, high quality protein mapping services to our clients. The response of the proteomics community to our ProteoSep technology has been overwhelming and we are very pleased to expand our services to the community".
The Protein Discovery Laboratory offers many options to its customers for mapping of their proteins using ProteoSep, the novel gel-free protein separation and mapping platform. The standard analysis involves the liquid separation of the proteins present in a customer-supplied sample, with the customer receiving the resulting 2D UV/pI map that is generated using the ProteoVue Software. Liquid fractions can be collected from both the first and second dimension separations for further analysis by mass spectrometry by Eprogen or by the client. A full 2D Mass/pI map can also be generated for those proteins of interest to the client.
